Army rescues missing commanding officer, 5 others

The Nigerian Army has protected five fighters and officers among those announced missing after a trap by Boko Haram individuals at Guru Gongon in Borno state on Wednesday July twentieth. ‎ A boss, three officers and 16 warriors were proclaimed long gone after the trap.


In an announcement discharged today by Army representative, Col. Usman Sani, the leader of the troops was among those saved early today.

"It will be reviewed that some of our troops were lost without a trace after a snare at Guro Gongon on July 20, 2016. Subsequently, purposeful endeavors were started to hunt down and protect them. The measures incorporated the utilization of air resources, exceptional powers and watches. We wish to illuminate you that the pursuit party has early today discovered five more officers and fighters that were pronounced long gone, including the unit's boss. In spite of the fact that they are in a steady condition, they have been moved to our therapeutic offices for restorative consideration."
